The objectives of Partial Foot Prosthetics -training course at
JSPO are that after the course Students should know
amputation surgery, understand biomechanics of normal foot
and know the anatomy and physiology of the foot.
Students should understand the functional loss of partial foot
amputee and the biomechanical considerations for partial foot
prosthetic socket design. They should also understand the
importance of patient assessment and prescription principles.
After the course students should know various prosthetic
solutions and socket designs. They should have know-how of
casting procedure and rectification of various socket designs.
This manual is prepared to form the bases of the theory of
Partial foot prosthetics course and give support to the
practical projects during the course
