Background : The number of physical disabilities in Indonesia is around 3 million and the number of health workers is still very small, especially for orthotics prostheses with 250 Human Resource. Lack of knowledge about orthotics prosthetics affects the amount of orthotist prosthetist, some orthotist prosthetist have the motivation to work with disabilities (Magnuson, L et all: 2016). Many people do not know about prosthetic orthotics that affects interest with prosthetic orthotics.
Research Purposes : Knowing the effect of counseling on the level of knowledge about prosthetic orthotics and factors that influence the level of knowledge.
Research Methods : Quasi-experiments or without group control were used in this study. Pretest and posttest were conducted to measure the level of knowledge of students.
Result : There is an influence of counseling on the level of knowledge of students about prosthetic orthotics and the relationship between gender and major did not affect the level of knowledge of students.
Conclusion : Counseling has a high influence on the level of knowledge of students about prosthetic orthotics. Before counseling the level of knowledge of students was only 4% which was categorized as good and after counseling increased to 100%.
