The objectives to the Hip Disarticulation Prosthetics -course at
JSPO are that after the course students should know the hip
disarticulation amputation, hemipelvectomy, related anatomy
and physiology. They should know HD prosthetics and
prescriptive considerations and make patient assessment. It is
important students to understand the biomechanics of hip
disarticulation socket; know casting procedure and cast
rectification.
Students have to know socket variations, production and
components. They have to know hip disarticulation gait
deviations, bench and dynamic alignment. It is important to
understand prosthetic problems and socket changes, and how to
correct them. Finally students have to know to how make hip
disarticulation and hemipelvectomy checkout procedure.
